Mike Mockford studied at the Lincolnshire College of Art and Design in the early 1980's. Since then he has worked as a graphic designer and illustrator for a range of clients including British Steel, GEC, Nortel Networks.
Working with pencils, pastels airbrush, or watercolours, Mike has a rounded knowledge of a range of media. Since moving to Devon and buying a small cruising yacht, Mike has had a keen interest in capturing the beauty and majesty of the sea, the people and craft.Mike has held numerous exhibitions in the UK to great aclaim.
Mike's technique is to paint on-screen rather than on paper. He mixes up his digital paint and then paints the scene like any other artist. If you have struggled with your computer to do the simplest task, you may apreciate the difficulties of producing a credible work of art from the thing..
