The Vatican And St. Peters Square

The Vatican and St. Peters Square

About this Artwork

This 6 by 4 foot canvas is one in a series of six views of Rome. In this piece I have looked at the Vatican and St. Peters to displays Romes power during the Renaissance. I have tried to draw a parrell with mans power and the power of nature. I have used broad sweeping bruch strokes to try the piece togather as a whole and to display the harsh abbrasive weather that can control any landscape setting. In these 6 pieces I found the works of Turner and the other Romantic to be of great inspiration to me in both concept and style.
