This dry point etching was inspired by a church in my home town of Darwen. As I was growing up the church remained abandoned and unused. It always appeared a haunting mystery, nobody saw or went in. It was the subject of many childhood ghost stories. In this piece I have attempted to display the feelings that this piece of architecure conjured up. The sweeping movments of the ink over the plate are intended to give the piece an atmospheric quality; displaying the loneliness and terror that such a simple building can posses.
