This is my first year of painting and I am self taught and was encouraged to try my hand at it by an art therapist at Combat Stress, a treatment centre for ex-services personnel. I left the Army ten years ago but was diagnosed with PTSD 2 years ago. Having previously always used producing music as a way to express myself and at times as my salvation, painting has become a new inspiration and a way to free myself. Some of the pictures reflect my feelings about my experiences and others are simply explorations of colour and shade. I work out of a studio at my home between the New Forest and the sea.
