Always There For You

Always There For You

About this Artwork

Oil on board

Round and round she moves, the seventh link, held fast within the dark circle of the Six, side stepping to the jagged sound of their chants. As she moves in step with the others, the tall figure in the middle stands proud and silent, clutching the curved body and long neck of an object, protecting it from the vicious swipes of the Six. Their momentum builds as the circle begins to tighten and the object is swiftly snatched from its grip. The memory fades. When it returns, she is at the water's edge, observing the dark rotation of blurred silhouettes set against the blue violet promise. The object is held aloft by its neck and passed from one to the other. Wails and screeches pierce the still night as one by one the strings are wrenched from its belly and a loud snap as its neck is broken and it is tossed aside. (extract from 'TLK and TDOTHTB')
