Porthcurno Rocks
Early evening light as the sun was disappearing behind the headland which houses the Minnack Theatre at Porthcurno beach, Cornwall. Glowing granite rocks cast strong shadows along the rock face, as the sun went down leaving the heat of the day from the sand keeping us warm.

Freelance
graphic designer/art director for 22 years producing corporate identities,
brochures, general print, direct mail, packaging and web design, now fully
employed as an art director with an advertising agency in Richmond-upon-Thames
for 3 years.
My passion and inspiration for painting is
derived from places I visit regularly; landscapes of Southern England, South
West England; coastal scenery and
dramatic skies.
I try to
capture the essence of the scene in an impressionist and personal way, working
from sketches and photographs to create a finished painting. Constantly
striving to extend my skills in water-based mediums and often combining them
with pastels.
A
member of Croydon Art Society who I occasionally exhibit with.
I have
had various private commissions for landscapes in UK and Canada, and a
commercial commission from Medici Society for a Christmas card.
It is my ambition to live by the sea and paint full time.
