Gosh - where does the time go to? High summer here in North Norfolk - which of course means rain and thunderstorms. Art wise I've been to a demo of oil painting - bill Alexander style - he was tutor to Bob Ross - its great fun and i learned very quickly what i had been doing wrong - wet in wet to me means wet as in watercolour wet - a style i love and i flood the paper with water, the oil style is really "wettish in barely damp "....no wonder it wasn't working for me. Anyway lately I've done a few in oils and a huge 30 x 60 inch sunset in acrylics - my largest work so far with multi layers of paint overlaid, scratched back and blended and topped of with a hint of metallic interference paints.I've uploaded a pic here. Love the oils but there's so many meduims and colours in acrylics that i don't think i'll ever stop using them. Along with that I've done some watercolour floral paintings which have worked well - Variety keeps work interesting I think. Next term at the art group I go to - we're simply a group of friends helping each other - chatting - painting and generally putting the world to rights - I'm going to go back to soft pastels - its been a while since i used those and I find when i change medium it helps all aspects of my art. Plus its fun of course and thats what art should be!Great surprise today to be emailed to say Vermillion Sunset is on homepage. If you want to see more of my artworks - and there's loads.... simply look at my home site www.jeaniezelos.com - or just type in jeanniezelos into google and it'll bring up other istes i belong to - sometimes having a strange anme is an advantage, I can truly say I'm the only jeannie zelos around!
