The Calla

The calla

About this Artwork

The calla lily has been highly emblematic throughout history; representing different meanings amongst Christian, Roman and Judaic traditions. Ironically, in more recent times, this flower is associated with both weddings and funerals. Strange to think that this one flower is synonomous with not only the happiest, but also the saddest event in a person's lifetime.

Lambda print, mounted on aluminium Dibond with Perspex face.
