Born and raised in Singapore, Geetha grew up in a multiracial and multilingual society, learning both the cultures and languages of her Chinese mother and her Indian father.
Her paternal ancestry from four generations of traditional hand jewellers and goldsmiths from the South of India initiated her into the world of designs from a young age.
Geetha moved to England after spending time in Australia and now has a Cambridge studio. Balancing a corporate IT career for years, her artistic pursuits allow her the opportunity to feed her passion and to expand her creative flares in an imaginative and expressive style.
Having had several exhibitions of her works, including one at the Alexander Palace in London, her 'Intimates' series took to the Saatchi Gallery Showdown. This was an in-depth study into the concept of intimacy as perceived, interpreted, beheld, manifested and projected between the human mind and the metro society.
Mostly abstract and unconventional, Geetha's works comprise a multitude of media ranging from charcoal to ceramics. Texture, feel and vibrancy are the constant focus in her work.
Completing a postgraduate programme in ceramics she has now built up a portfolio of sculptures 'to provide the balance between form and function, alongside my abstract and figurative paintings'.
