I am married and live in Woodborough, a small village on the outskirts of Nottingham. My Parents are from England and Jamaica so I grew up with different traditions and cultures.
I started painting at about the age of 12 whilst at school and really enjoyed it. My favourite mediums were watercolours and pastels. I really enjoyed painting at the time and my parents have several paintings framed and hung in their home. I wanted to pursue a career in Art but was told it was too competitive. When I finished my secondary education I decided against Art college and went to computer college. I recently started painting again (oct 07) and have decided I would love to paint full time one day. I have had positive comments and a lot of support from family and friends. In early 2008 I entered a piece (Best friends) into the Patchings Farm competition which was selected for the highly commended category. This really boosted my confidence and made me decide never to put the paint brush down again. In December 08 I was approached by a company to display my work in London at a Christmas Exhibition with fellow artists. I gained great experience from this and met some lovely people. My next exhibition at present will be in June this year in Nottingham.
I am really enjoying exploring new ideas and styles of painting and look forward to more opportunities to expand my knowledge and style this year. I hope you enjoy viewing my art as much as I enjoy creating it.
